Chief of Staff
You will work directly with the founders as a force multiplier: owning the things that fall between functions, running the operating cadence, and turning ambiguity into a plan. This is a high-trust, high-ownership role for an operator who wants to see the whole company and move it forward, not manage a single lane.
ATBF Labs builds the inference engine for production AI. Every token a model serves in production runs through an inference stack, and that stack decides the latency, the cost, and the reliability of the product sitting on top of it. We build ours from first principles: custom GPU kernels, a purpose-built runtime, and a distributed serving layer that holds its tail latency under real load. We are a small team with a high bar, shipping to production from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Run the company operating cadence: planning, goals, metrics, and the meetings that keep them honest.
- Own cross-functional projects end to end, from a fuzzy problem to a shipped outcome.
- Prepare board materials, fundraising narratives, and internal communications with the founders.
- Build the early operational backbone: hiring process, vendors, finance ops, and tooling.
- Sit in on the hard decisions, surface the data, and make sure the follow-through happens.
- Be the connective tissue between engineering, go-to-market, and the founders.
- 5+ years in a high-velocity environment: operating, consulting, banking, or an early startup.
- A track record of owning ambiguous, cross-functional work and finishing it.
- Sharp written and verbal communication; you can write the memo and run the room.
- Comfort with numbers: you can build the model and read the dashboard.
- Experience at an early-stage startup, ideally in AI infrastructure or deep tech.
- Exposure to fundraising, board management, or strategic finance.
- Enough technical fluency to hold a real conversation with the engine team.
- A bias for action and a high tolerance for context-switching.
Base salary plus meaningful equity. The range is a guideline; final numbers reflect experience, skills, and location. Full health, dental, and vision coverage included.
Solve hard problems
Inference is a systems problem from the kernel up. You will work on the parts that decide whether a model is usable in production: latency, throughput, and cost.
Own the whole stack
Small team, large surface area. You will have real ownership across kernels, runtime, and serving, and your work ships to customers, not a backlog.
